Prior to founding Marengo, Ed spent 12 years in the security and intelligence sector and served as a reconnaissance officer in the British Army.

Thorold worked in the British Army in a variety of dynamic environments, leading to senior roles in the professional services, pharmaceutical, venture capital and advisory sectors in the UK, Hong Kong, New York, and Miami.

Mathew brings over 30 years of expertise from his distinguished service in the Metropolitan Police. He has worked in covert policing, counterterrorism, and high-level armed security, collaborating with UK Special Forces and the Ministry of Defence to combat organised crime and terrorism.
A key contributor to the Counterterrorism Operations Centre (CTOC), he specialised in command and control for high-profile national events, including leading armed policing operations for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. His expertise includes covert surveillance, hijack and siege scenarios, hostage rescue, close target reconnaissance, and advanced driving.

Charlie has spent over 25 years leading expert teams of former government specialists, delivering solutions for government officials, corporations, high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and lawyers. Previously, he served over 20 years in the UK military and has worked across military, security, and intelligence agencies with the highest level of security clearance.

He specialises in asset tracing, reputation management, enhanced due diligence, and pre-market analysis.
